Dr. Margaret Pooler, Research Leader of the U.S. National Arboretum’s Floral and Nursery Plants Research Unit (FNPRU), retired last month after over 30 years of service to the National Arboretum. Through her leadership and dedication to scientific excellence as a woody ornamental breeder, Dr. Pooler helped advance the development of resilient, climate-smart ornamental plants and breeding technologies that benefit the nursery industry and the public.
