FONA is only a small part of the Arboretum and the countless individuals who support and enjoy it. Here are just a few of our partners and cooperating organizations.
The U.S. National Arboretum is a 446 acre living museum and research facility in Northeast Washington DC where trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants are cultivated for scientific and educational purposes.
The Washington Youth Garden, our largest program, provides hands-on nutrition, gardening, and environmental education programs to DC youth and their families in local classrooms and at our 1-acre demonstration garden here at the Arboretum..
The National Bonsai Foundation is a nonprofit organization established to sustain the National Bonsai & Penjing Museum. It provides financial support and advice to the Arboretum’s National Bonsai and Penjing Museum.
