Take a brisk hike through moonlit gardens, meadows, and woods. Your guide will share specially chosen points of interest and seasonal highlights. The two-hour walk over hilly and uneven terrain is a brisk hike, not a garden tour, so prepare accordingly. No children under 16 or pets, please.

To make your experience more enjoyable, please note the following guidelines:
Entrance will be through the R Street gate only (off Bladensburg Road). Free parking is just inside the gate. Do not enter the New York Avenue address into a GPS system, as it will lead you to a locked gate. For GPS, use 2400 R St. NE.
Please arrive 15-30 minutes prior to the start of the hike. The group will leave the building promptly at the start time. The arboretum gate will be locked at the hike start time and no one will be allowed to enter after the program has started. The arboretum gates are locked daily at 5:00 p.m. and will reopen to hikers 30 minutes prior to the start of the hike.
If you have registered a guest, please make sure they receive this information. This will help them to be better prepared to enjoy the hike.
Flashlights adapted for night vision will be carried by the guide and volunteers only. The guide will ask the group to keep talking to a minimum to enhance the experience.
Sorry, no pets or children under 16 allowed.
